How you know that your xbox 360 is overheating

Your Xbox 360 flashes red LED's when it has diagnosed the issue that is causing the console to malfunction. Unlike the three rings of death which is a general hardware failure, the two rings together NOT three means that your console is just overheating. The two rings should be next to each other not across it make a red half circle on your xbox 360 power bottom

What to do about over heating

After you have figured out that you xbox 360 has over heated you will have to think about how you want to fix it. If you want to fix it your self you will VOID any warranty you have for your xbox 360 by Taking it apart. You could also have someone else at a store fix it or send it to Microsoft, if you haven't already tired to take it apart. You only have to take apart the xbox 360 till you can get at the fans of the xbox 360 this video will take you through the process of completely disassembling the xbox 360 to its mother board which is not necessary for your problem.

Now that you have got to the inside of your console you need to do some cleaning, remove any dust with a can of air duster or i used some compressed air out of a compressor but be gentle in the processes of doing so. removing dust helps the xbox 360 over all and can help stop over heating. after you have removed most of the dust you have to make sure that the two fans in the xbox 360 are both working properly and spinning with ease. The fans spin in opposite directions not to important unless one works better then the other. If one of the fans heads seems sticky or slow, they do pop on and off but be careful not to break any blades off clean the rod the fans sits on and after words lubricate it. Make sure the fans both spin smoothly after put the fans back in and connect them start the xbox 360, and play. Reassemble the xbox 360 the same way you took it apart.
